They’re prompts, not homework. And please don’t spend half an hour making the problem sound impressively strategic. The messy version is usually more useful than the polished one.

After you hit send

No mysterious sales funnel.

Here’s what happens.

1 · I read it.

Your enquiry doesn’t disappear into a sequence of automated “just circling back” emails because you innocently mentioned the word growth.

2 · I look at the context.

If you’ve included your company website, I’ll usually take a look before replying. I want some idea of the business we’re actually talking about.

3 · I reply.

Usually within two business days. If I think there’s something useful to explore, I’ll suggest the most sensible next conversation.

4 · We work out the right depth.

That might be a 20-minute Capacity Fit Call, a Workflow Redesign conversation, a Fractional Race Engineer discussion, a narrower intervention or something else entirely. You don’t have to choose before contacting me.

5 · If I’m not the right person, I’ll tell you.

Sometimes the answer is smaller than the engagement you had in mind. Sometimes you need somebody else. Sometimes the business doesn’t need a consultant at all. That’s useful information too.

The point of the first conversation is to understand the problem.Not to force it into a service.
